Honda unicorn sudden pick up/ drop in speed in top 4th and 3rd gear.
Since I bought the bike I have this trouble in engine which cannot be simulated to make the mechanic understand the problem (I bought my bike in 2012 June and have done 5600kms) A strange thing happens in engine and sound (karakh) comes out of the bike engine and the pickup drops/increases for a second or 2 when travelling in top gear and in the 3rdrd and 4thth service I brought my bike to Bangalore and using it here and today I got it serviced (all the values have been cleaned I want to know what is making the engine to produce that kind of sound and pick up/ drop in the speed, that too occasionally. I suspect carburetor or clutch plastes inssue..Tags: None

Thread ApprovedAdvice is a form of nostalgia.
Dispensing it is a way of fishing the past from the disposal, wiping it off, painting over the ugly parts and recycling it for more than it's worth.

Your carburetor/carburettor slide is getting stuck. Needs cleaning most probably. Do you ride/reside in a dusty area? Also, get the clutch plates checked.Originally posted by rameshpm View PostSince I bought the bike I have this trouble in engine which cannot be simulated to make the mechanic understand the problem (I bought my bike in 2012 June and have done 5600kms) A strange thing happens in engine and sound (karakh) comes out of the bike engine and the pickup drops/increases for a second or 2 when travelling in top gear and in the 3rd gear, it doesn’t happen often. We cannot say when that will occur, the bike runs good for one or two days and then it occurs once and then it won’t occur for some days together. Sometimes it occurs two to three times in a day. To explain it better I can say that it feels like some wheels are slipping in the engine. I don’t know how to explain this problem. I initially thought that clutch is getting engaged while traveling in top gear and explained the same to service guys and every time they adjust the clutch that is it. Then 3 services got completed and between 3rd and 4th service I didn’t use my bike. After 4th service I brought my bike to Bangalore and using it here and today I got it serviced (all the values have been cleaned I want to know what is making the engine to produce that kind of sound and pick up/ drop in the speed, that too occasionally. But, its rare that there would a problem with the clutch plates as you've only ridden 5600 kms. Get the carb checked!Got a $5 head? Get a $5 helmet.
