  • Huge Oil leak in the Magneto Case

    Hello All,

I am owner of a TVS Victor Edge 125cc,

Last week tried adjusting valve clearance but before adjusting i wanted the engine to be on the "TDC" position but when i opened the Small Bolt which is for checking the "T" mark which indicates the posotion of Engine to "TDC" i saw huge oil in the case it was so much i was not able to see the " T " mark, got a bit confused, searched on the internet and came to know that there is one small oil seal on the Crank Shaft which prevents the oil from coming in the Magneto casing, then i went to the mechanic to ask for the oil seal change but intrestingly his answer was shocking he said "No its not an issue in the case of TVS Victor the engine oil coming in the magneto case is usual coz in the magneto case the Timing Chain is placed for lubrication, for the Timing chain the oil lubrication is must"

Now i dont understand the thing here, need help in this regards do i need to change the oil seal or not? please help

    Regards,
    Mosin

        Hi

I got to know that there are two types of megnet casing coils one wihch is dry and one which is dipped in engine oil bcoz of the timing chain is located behind the magnet coil,

i presume that Victor egde has the second type of coil installed..

        any suggestions on this
