  • Suzuki inazuma fork oil seal broken

    Hi

My suzuki inazuma fork oil seal broken when i hit a bad patch of road last week. probably i think has to do with the bike sitting idle long through the Lockdown. now the bummer is, I tried to check with Suzuki dealer in chennai where I bought the bike (SMK suzuki) and their response is like we dont procur spare parts for that bike. and I checked with the only other dealer who can procur for me in Tamilnadu (NJ suzuki Coimbatore) and they also gave a very vague response and eventually went down the same path like SMK chennai. so i tried my luck with the local dealers in chennai and i ran into a spec difference. my bike spec says that the fork oil seal should be 37*48*8/9.5 but they have either 37*48*9 or 37*48*10. they are convincing me that its okay to install with slight difference in the width of the seal (as i researched, understood that the spec is outer Diameter * inner diameter * width). my doubt is should i go for a oil seal with minor differences? Please assist.

    Did you resolve your issue?

I couldn't find parts for a suzuki access scooter 2 years back in my local suzuki ASC so I aggressively sent an e-mail to suzuki officials at their HQ. I told them that without that part my vehicle can't be operated and it's a great inconvenience. They immediately communicated with my local ASC which called me to kindly visit there to fill out a form to requisition parts in urgency. They have a particular term for urgent parts order - VOR - vehicle out of road. You need to tell them that your vehicle is VOR because of lack of parts.

I have a policy not to argue and beg with local dealers or lower management guys, they don't care for the customers. I have always got my issue resolved by complaining (even threatening with a consumer court case) to the top management guys at HQ.
