1. When cold starting the bike, if I crank while the meter is initializing, the full swipe of the tacho and 888 on speedo, the bike starts in half a crank idles at higher rpm and when the meter comes back to 0, the rpm goes back to normal cold values, ie from 1200 to 1100-1000. Is this with other pulsars too? before or after BS4?
2. Bike doesn't start in 1 crank if left for 10 mins after no matter how long of a ride. I have tuned carb myself and settled where my coldstarts are effortless and bike doesnt bog down when going T.W.O. Makes me wonder if this and point 1 are co related and problem lies with the cdi.
3. Currently have set the suspension to level 3. YES level 3. I weigh around 81kgs for a 5'11 frame thanks to lying around during lockdown and even before when I was 74ish kgs the bike would sag quite a bit when I sat on it. So got it set to level 2, but the it would bubble endlessly while riding over bumps with my dad as pillion. He weighs 90+kgs. Anything else that I can do to improve comfort?
Even now if I encounter a change is level of road or a hole not deeper than 3/4th of an inch, the classic loud "KHAT" is heard from front end. Earlier models had BCU which would bounce around but why does mine still do that above 10kmph?
4. Like everyone else who becomes a fnatic after getting a new ride, I wanted best for my machine, so I threw in a pair of NGK G Power plugs. They made the engine louder but throttle actually became crisp and cold starts seemed better. For warranty issues I swapped back to my factory ones and to my surprise after 3k kms on them, (technically 4000kms but ngk ones have to be included) my factory RHS plug got its electrode ate up, thats 4.xxK kms on odo! Currently using NGK standard plugs and they seem alright.
5. My legs are too long for this footpeg setup. I was actually going for 125 model but dad said forget it get the 150. Twin disc dindnt make sense to me that time, I didnt knew much about motorcycling. I couldnt realise this in test rides as they were never over a km (Delhi showrooms suck in this regard) and after going on a few sunday rides I have realised this that I need the rearsets of the 150 twin disc. Estimate is that I would have to change the footpeg holders, gear shifter, brake pedal, remove kick or go for avenger kick, possibly bend the silencer a bit outwards and the side stand. Anyone who can give me exactly what all needs to be changed as if its worth the money because my current parts would go to waste.
6. Is it just my bike or does everyones bike feel drastically smoother after say, stopping at a redlight for 30+ seconds with a warm engine. I am currently running on 7100 20w50 and my bike doesnt feel smooth when cold, not when hot but right after ^^^.
7. Finally I have installed a PCV valve from Baleno in my breather hose to prevent blowby. Yes, my 1 year old bike has been sipping on oil not throught the piston rings but through the airbox. There is a thread here on xbhp itself about this problem pulsars are plagued by. I have seen oil stains in the airbox exactly on the opposite of the air duct for carb intake, using phone cam ofcourse. And I can say my oil level is constant now for 500+kms just that I feel like I am losing pickup. Once I get another spare breather hose I will compare. What do you guys feel about this?
Thanks for reading this terribly long post
and do provide your input if you can. Always appreciate it!
