Be it Raju, be it Kaju, they are all in a business. They all want to make money. If you can figure out certain things on your own... have someone with experience in papers with you who can verify the kind of import it is... Motorcycle or as Accessories... these things help. If it is a TR bike, you will rarely be able to transfer in your own name since it is imported under a fictitious name with a fictitious address. But even a TR import can be transferred to your name if the import is more than 2 years old.The Wheel was a great invention; Two Wheels with a Motor in between was even better!

Since you wish to go for a used one, First Test-Drive the Bike.
If possible, take a mech with you to thoroughly scrutinize the Bike. Things like rim or fork bends needs to be checked. Also, check for the condition of tires, Insurance coverage, Last service done, etc.. Good Luck for your SBK hunt

Legal import-peace of mind for ~12 Lakhs.Originally posted by Sunny View PostI dont think Dreambikes are into bikes anymore. Also why not go for a legal import now, it will cost a little bit more, but a combination of intelligent downpayment and some buffer money for installments should see it through. Of course I am talking about the R1 though.
Used R6-~6Lakhs.
6 lakhs for peace of mind is a big price to pay

first of all buying an official bike has paperwork advantages.
- it has the same papers as a normal desi bike . no additional papers, no trouble at all. and sleep peacefully.
- comprehensive insurance. you get full insurance on the official bikes. remember that imports just can get a 3rd party insurance which means if you crash by yourself (that is no other person is involved), you'll pay through your nose.
- warranty, dont think that nothing can go wrong with even a SBK. so yeah if anything does go wrong , warranty will be much easier to claim if its an official bike , plus you can harrass your dealer daily
6 lakhs to give away in an accident is worse than paying 6 lakhs for peace of mind
