I have a Pulsar 150 BS4 Single Disc Variant, bought on Nov 7 2018. The bike has done around 9k KMs and from the past few months I'm being bothered by a Tak Tak like sound from my bike across the rev range(Increases while revving). I recently got it checked by a local mechanic and ASC thinking that it is related to Tappet becoming loose but both suggested that the issue is from Timing Chain. At around 1100KMs right after the run-in I switched to Motul 300V 15W50 Oil and after around 3500 KMs I gave it for servicing at a Castrol Service Center because ACS was closed, he put in some oil I didn't even get to check the grade because of some other important work, after that I rode the bike for some 2.5Kms and put 300V again, now after 2.5KMs I am experiencing this issue. I have driven the bike roughly and sedately both but rash driving has more percentage. Should I go in for the Timing Chain Replacement ? Will it affect the Engine Life in anyway ? My bike starts in One single crank/kick even on cold starting and Mileage is also very good. The sound is very irritating because I like my vehicles to sound crisp, when I hear other Pulsar's sound I feel very bad, so I need this issue to be gone ASAP.
One more query, this time I am thinking to switch to Motul 7100 20W50 because it's both synthetic and original grade as recommended by Bajaj and also 300V is overkill for my bike.
My question is, Should I put Bajaj's Original 20W50 Engine Oil for Initial 500-1000 KMs or go on with Motul 7100 20W50 ? I am quite confused, and very much worried, I love my bike very much. Can the experts help me out here, please?
