  • Taking suggestions to re-model the looks of my 9-yr old RE Classic 350

    Hello xBhpians,

Note: Just to clarify, by "re-model", I mean the looks of the machine. Nothing related to the engine, or silencer etc.,

Now, before even I start off with my questions with the re-modelling, I'd like to know, is it a good idea to spend money on the re-modelling (considering it is 9 yrs old), or should I sell it and get a new bike. I'm sure I'm not gonna sell it, but still, I'd like to know how long does everyone use their motorbikes(especially RE).

Alright, I'll start with the few questions that I've got.

    1. There's this different scratchy look and feel to the paint on the machine's body. You can refer to the picture with the speedometer. In the same picture, you can see on the side where the paint is worn off, but this is different. Not sure what this is. That's the way it is on the mud-guards and the petrol tank. How do I get over this? Entire body paint? Wax polish? Wraps?

    2. How much does it cost for a total body paint of the machine? Any rough estimates including the paint and labour? (JFYI, I'm from Chennai)

    3. Any other suggestions (from the looks perspective) that you'd give for the bike?

    Thanks so much in advance!

    Looking forward to your suggestions

      hi

Has the bike been kept in the sun for longer period of time (i.e) parked in the sunlight without any shade. Because it looks like the paint has crackled due to heat. If your looking for cheap Jugaad. Get some black spray cans from any automotive spare shop and give a coat on the affected area. or else go for a professional paint job which in my guess would cost you between 10 to 15 K depending upon the shade you choose.

      Cheers
