  • Long rides on a 160cc bike

    Hi Fellow Riders,

I want to start long rides on my bike. 500kms+ rides to begin with. I have a rather humble NS160. I want to know what kind of problems I can face because of a small displacement engine and also any suggestion or guidance is most welcome.

    Regards
    BugsMoto

Hey BugsMoto wishes for your long journeys.
There is absolute no rules and guidelines for touring as they say "journey is more important than destination". What is going to matter is the capacity of running and stopping distance of bike at safe limits (to avoid panic situation).
Take frequent break momentum (which helps body to relax and brain to settle down).

Ive done long runs on my gixxerSF.
        Few things to remember,
These are Mainly commuter bikes so fast wear n tear of : brake pads.
        front shocker oil seal.
        engine oil.
rear suspension damage (if roads are bad and bike is loaded with luggage/pillion).
        clutch plates.

So get these checks beforehand by mechanic and keep an eye on him to ensure he does the job right.

        Enjoy riding.
