I have been riding a Unicorn 160 since 2015 for 25,000 km and while it has served me well, I have not taken care of it to the same degree as much. The bike has developed problems due to my sheer carelessness. It stalls after starting up or at low speeds, front disc brake behaves like a worn out calliper brake of a bicycle, the engine does not feel refined as a usual Honda engine. My luck with mechanics has been terrible and thus I've decided to oversee the upcoming service and discuss the issues with a mechanic. Can you help with a checklist that I must follow to get the bike and especially its engine up to mark.
Here are a few points I've made but I don't know much about engine and gear adjustments
- Replace disc brake pads
- Replace air filter
- Degrease the chain and reapply lubricant
- Check chain slack
- Clean the carburettor
- Check/replace rear brake cable
- Clean drum brake
- Check rear tyre alignment
- Oil the accelerator cable (no idea if this makes sense)
- Clean spark plug
- Engine oil change (please suggest a good oil)
- Clutch wire oiling and replacement if necessary
- Accelerator rotation adjustment
- Headlight Dipper adjustment
