  • Weird Noise from Rear Wheel - Bullet Electra

    Hi!

I own a Bullet Electra (2016 Model), and have been riding everyday ever since. I use the motorcycle for commuting and occasional touring. There's this weird noise (grinding sort of) coming from the rear wheel (I'm suspecting it's from the rear drum) since a long time now. First, I discovered it in early 2018, and mentioned it to the workshop I used to get the motorcycle serviced from (I didn't know whether it was from the rear at that time), and the fellows fixed it (maybe temporarily).

In recent times, I experienced this noise again, this time a bit more. Now, since I've moved to another city from 2018, I showed it to the workshop from where I get my motorcycle serviced regularly. The person at the workshop guessed it first as the noise coming from the brake liners, so he replaced them. Still the noise sustained. Then he guessed it to be from the rear wheel bearings, so he replaced them too. It worked for a week, but then the noise has jumped back in.

Please help me with what could be the cause of this, and suggest a good workshop here in Pune.

    Thanks!

Hey WanderStrum Do check that whether this noise while bike is on main stand, just put it into neutral and spin the wheel. Check whether the noise is there before pressing the brake or not. If the noise is from brake means brake causing to wheel slow down.

Thank you, Vishal Wagh, I tried this, and the noise apparently doesn't appear when it's on the main stand, on neutral as you suggested; I also tried to put in the gear and accelerated. The noise doesn't appear there. Just when I apply brakes, and then the clutch to lower down the gears the noise appears, and also while getting over the speed bumps.
