  • Doubt on the condition of Piston and Cylinder

    Hello, xBhpians.
I purchased an RE Himalayan just a year ago and have strictly followed the Service schedule as prescribed by RE and it's only run 10000km. A few days back, it started making a new engine noise at higher gears and having pick-up issues. I contacted RE for diagnosis and the showroom said there is scuffing on the piston and cylinder. Attached is a picture of it. But on making the claim for a warranty from the showroom, I was informed that the claim has been rejected as the higher authority claimed it as normal wear. Now please help me and say if this is normal for a bike after 10000km.
Am I being paranoid or being looted by the company?

      Hai

Every time you service you bike. Do you check the engine oil level. There are instances where they drain the engine oil and forget to refill with fresh oil. Normally scuffing will happen when there the oil level is very low and oil is not sufficient. If your riding in sane and normal and if the service is done properly then it will last for a minimum of 40K Kms. My CL350 lasted for 100K Kms before it needed a heart transplant. If you do check your engine level regularly and it is within the limits. Then it is premature failure of parts.

      Cheers
