  • Apache 200 RE cold start and pickup issue

    HI guys.

Mine is Apache 200 RE '18 and I keep facing cold start iasue. It does not start without using choke and even then it takes long for engine gets warm. Also pickup is reduced in 1st n 2nd gear. While sudden twisting the throttle there is a lag and seems the engine is out of breath and will stall. Overtaking needs increase speed gradually. What could be the problem? Is it spark plug, ignition relay, air filter or something else?

looks like rich mixture to me. Get your carburetor tune or tune it by yourself.

Thanks a lot Sun. You are probably right about the mixture as whenever I used to start my bike, I get the strong smell of petrol as if there is a leakage. Unfortunately my speedo is blank so cant tune it myself.
Also I need to replace both tyres and chain sprocket, so could you suggest me some brands which are better than stock ones and are cost effective.

For chain, I found only Rolon for now. For tyres I am considering Apollo alpha s1, MRF Revz S or Remora as last option as I mostly commute and not in hard-riding. My stock ones are Remora they did their job pretty well in dry and wet conditions. Need something which are not hard or soft compound.

        Thanks

Also are you sure that tuning carburetor will solve lag issue and restore the pickup? Just asking..

There may be other issues ,but start with simple and free option ,regarding tyres i will go for apollo and Rolon is the OEM supplier for most of the bike sold in India
