  • MH registration Vs DL/UP registration

Hey Guy, I would appreciate any feedback, comments or thoughts you may have. Thank you in advance.

I hail from Delhi-NCR, but I've been living in Mumbai for a few years now and may continue in Maharashtra for some time to come. The road tax norm in Maharashtra seems to be one of the highest in India. I'm planning on purchasing a 500-800cc sports bike CBUs (my first). Also planning to register the bike in Delhi or Uttar Pradesh and then drive it here in Maharashtra.

Is the MH-RTO overly scrutinizing these CBUs. Does driving a superbike that doesn't have a MH number over here in MH cause any problems? Getting a non-MH registration can lead to challenges such as being tracked by traffic cops, having the bike seized, and other issues.

Registration for DL and UP is around 10%, while registration for MH is about 30%

If you plan to stay in Maharashtra for an extended period of time, it might be easier and more cost-effective to transfer your motorcycle registration within the state rather than going through administrative and legal hassles.
