  • Activa : Spark plug broken and stuck in the header by Honda ASS

Since couple of days our Honda Activa (9yrs old but well maintained) was making some noise when we manually kick start it. So yesterday my dad has given the vehicle to Honda Authorized service center. In the evening we received a call from A.S.S and we were informed that the spark plug was broken and the lower piece of the plug is stuck in the cylinder head. Due to this now the cylinder head should be opened and tampered around with it to remove the broken sparkplug. I am worried about the performance of the engine once its head is opened and repaired by these not so reliable service guys

Now who should bear the expenses of these repairs? Can I make the A.S.S responsible for the mess they have done and get them bear the expenses? If yes, what is the right methodology to make them agree to it and ensure they handover the vehicle in good condition? Please Advice.

Advice is a form of nostalgia.
Dispensing it is a way of fishing the past from the disposal, wiping it off, painting over the ugly parts and recycling it for more than it's worth.

If it the plug was broken by the ASC, then ideally they shud be responsible for getting it fixed. You need to be firm and not budge.. they should pick up the labor and spark plug cost and not charge you for it. If they argue and charge you for it, make sure YOU ENTER THE SAME IN THE JOB SHEET BILL THAT YOU WERE CHARGED FOR THEIR NEGLIGENCE and also please write an email to Honda.
Opening the head shouldn't cause any performance or reliability issues, and it will be a hardly 30 min job to remove the head and get the plug out and replace it with a new plug.
