    Hi brothers

Yesterday was really bad day for me,,,When i parked my 7 months old red color unicorn at MG road (Bangalore) some idiots scratched my bike's petrol tank by using a sharp stone ,(later I was able to find that stone from the floor ) They marked a 'X' shape on it. I need help to find good paint shop in and around Bangalore to repaint my bike's tank..My friends told me that Honda Service station has no facility for painting and coating,So kindly help me to locate a good paint shop which they can paint like its original company painting..HELP ME

Touch up paint is available at the Honda spares shop for most colors. Find your exact paint color code ( check the owners manual to know where to look) and buy the paint at your SVC. I guess you can then spray it on at some local paint shop.

Ya..I was able to find the color code( Near the fusebox). Since it is red color, I think it will be available @ SVC . Today I will buy the paint and I will try to find a good paint shop ( I hope some xbhp brothers will help to find good one)
        Thanks for your information.

^^^Deepakumar, how is the quality of the new paint? Is it as good as the factory job? I doubt it...

And did they paint the whole tank? Which city was this in?

Hey if the scratch is not very deep then go to some car painters and tell them to putting rubbing polish and followed by wax polish. It should solve the problem. If the scratch is deep then painting the whole tank will give a uniform look. No idea about cost of painting but polishing will end-up within 50bucks

Not paint and polish ... 50 bucks for RUBBING POLISH & wax polish..

In few places i have saw few "tinkers" removing the entire tank dent for 150 or 200rs. The thing is u gotta search tinkers who can do good job at cheap rates. If dent is minor then i would say, just ignore it.

                  Dealing with Scratch

                  Hi guys.
Just a few days ago I noticed few scratchs on my bikes tank. I wanted to know if these scratchs can be fixed. I googled around for a while and found the scratch removing pen and rubbing compound. (Not sure if they are effective). My friend told me that rubbing compound is effective and it really works. Also have anyone tried using rubbing compound and should be done by professional or can be done at home.
Please give suggestions on how deal with it.

Ps: attached the image of the scratch

Buy Motomax 2K rubbing compound. Follow the instructions on it. It will remove the thin minor scratches.
But I can observe some thick deep scratches which won't be removed by rubbing.
So there is a cheap fix which has always worked for me.
Buy a glossy enamel black paint in little quantity ( Asian Paints 50ml).
Buy a very thin size drawing color brush. Remember school kids use them.
Only fill those scratches. I hope you might be good in drawing.
Try on some hidden area before using.

Or else you can paint full tank using spray paint cans. Or get it painted at some car garages who are specialised in car body works.

                      Thanks Lokesh

If I do any mistakes using rubbing compound, ,will I it screw up the things. . (Just being cautious). And will the use of enamel paint leave any trails?

The rubbing compound is safe to use. It won't screw up in any way. Its particle size is in microns. So it won't damage the paint.

You have to be cautious while applying that oil paint. Just in case it is not applied properly , keep some 50-100ml of solvent like petrol near with you to rub that paint off. It will simply reset the situation.

Post the situation as you work. Keep us updated. This will help others too.

Re: HELP: Repainting scratched Unicorn Tank

The scratches are too deep to be removed by polish. You may have to get the whole tank repainted.
                              I am back!
