    need help finding a V-Twin Engine

    Hi everyone

    I'm new here

    Actualy I need a V-Twin engine with everything. I mean like the gear box and carbortator and starter and any other thing that comes in the package.

    I'm from bangladesh and tried to find a Hyosung's 125cc engine. But was unable to find it I talked with the importers of Hyosung and they said they dont import complete engine,they only got spare part which is way more expensive

    Can you guys tell me if i can find a 125cc/250cc V-Twin in india? And how much will it cost? Or is there anyone who is salvaging their V-Twin bikes and selling stuff out?

        why is that mate? there are Hyosung GTR125/GTR250 and 125/150 Comets running around,right?

        then why cant we buy their engines??

        and if not that then can you guys please tell me the price of a good 150-180cc engine price?(it can be bajaj/hh/tvs,or any other indian brand)

          Your info is a little bit incorrect. If you are looking for engines of used Hyosung or Daelim bikes then start searching in Nepal rather than India. The Comet GT250 and the Aquila 250 were launched in limited numbers and it's unlikely that you'll be able to source just the engines from them. The RD 350s had parallel twins but again I doubt whether sourcing just the engine would be a good idea or not? Besides you would hardly find them in any good condition.

          Again, if you're looking for a brand new engine then forget it. You can buy different parts and will have to get everything assembled by a very very good mechanic. You can look for used engines and gearboxes from bikes which have crashed. But that's a very tedious process too.

          Lastly, why do you need these things anyway?

            i'm thinking about building a bike and i need an engine for that. The idea might sound crazy and hopeless but still i really wana try building it. did some of my drawings already.

            but still cant start the work cause i need the engine and then build my chassis around it.

            I talked with a local dealer,he said he can give me a brand new 150cc indian engine with 55000-60000(indian rupee)........so i figured he was planing to get a very little used bike and strip other parts and sell me the engine.....but as you can see,how much he is asking for the engine,i can buy a full bike at that price.

            i can find a good mechanic,but how much will it take a build an engine??i think it will cost ALOT.more than a whole bike i belive,or am i wrong?

            I got another solution. I can buy an old PULSAR NON-DTSI with around 50000km on the odo. but then can i rebuild the engine and make it new and more powerful?? If i do that how much will that cost?? suppose the engine is pretty much DEAD or in its last stage

              Ya that's way too high for just the engine and gearbox. I guess the best way for you would be to get hold of the bikes "Service Center Manual" and identify the different parts that consititute the engine and the gearbox and the necessary evil like the clutch parts, cables, accelerator cables,etc. with some help from a qualified mechanic. Once you have done that you can either come to Kolkata and order the same with say Bajaj Service Centers or go to say Wellingtion
              (local spares market of Kolkata) and source individual parts from there. Have the entire thing assembled by a profession and then carry it back to your home town.

                ok,so you are suggesting me to buy spare parts and build an engine from scrach??

                  I guess it will be a good idea to buy a used bike and then take the engine from it and use it on your bike...infact you can modify that engine for a little more poke!! and you will also end up with a whole load of parts from the bike that you can use on the one that you are going to build..!! cheers and goodluck to you!!

                    ya i was also thinking about the same.ok them tell me this.if i get a old 1st gen pulsar 150 with around 40000-50000 on the odometer,then what can i do with the engine??

                    and how much can will it cost me to make the engine as good as new and a equivalent of a pulsar 200 or a 180

                      NO - Don't think that's possible....there shall always be some teething problems other than that they are light years apart in terms of size and technological differences over the years.

                        i beg to differ a wee bit...actually i think the classic engine isint all that behind..a new digital cdi with a rebore and up jet would give the engine setup a noticable amount of power..

                        @topic starter - it would be better to source an engine which is still in production...

                            its been more that year and half. but i was wondering that if u get u r engine ?
                            well if not i can give one 400cc v twin engine with every thing. all u hv to do is to build a bike around it. the engine will cost u r near about 40k in India. contact me at
