    rearsets on a p180UG3

    Hello everyone!
    I have a Pulsar 180 UG3. I find its "sporty" rider position not that comfy and would love it if my knees could hug the tank comfortably. And I guess that's possible only if i get rearset footpegs.
    So experts, any ideas/suggestions about which ones to install, what are the issues, etc.

      so do you want your footpegs to be shifted forward? i think then you will have to shift the brake lever and the gear lever too. that seems to be quite complicated stuff to me. hope someone can help here. btw i would like to shift my footpeg backwards.

        You have the most obvious p200 rearsets which are a retro fit on the p180. Why look for anything else. Serves your purpose in every way!

          Notice those quotes for the word sporty in my previous post?They were there because the rider position is sporty just because of the handlebar. The footpegs are like any other bike[read: forward]

          I want the footpegs to be converted to rearsets so that the ride is a bit more comfortable.Not pushed forward.

          U sure p200 footpegs are a retro fit?
          I saw my friends 200.and measured the distance between the two nuts to be fixed for the footrest frame.Its the same for p180 and p200.
          But what about the gearshift lever and the rear brake lever?


          Also my feet are size 11. So would that be an obstruction for the pillion's feet?


          Also what would be the approximate cost of the set??There is no probiking spares shop in my town.

            ^^^ when u change the foot rests you don't change only the front one and keep the rear one intact... you change both of them as they are mounted to one piece of metal...

            Also, front & back foot rests differ in height and hence it shouldn't be an obstruction to get rear-sets!

            About the brake & gear levers... change them too.

              I have fitted RTR rearset in my apache 150.. It was done from TVS showroom itself.. Cost me around 4k.. Bajaj parts are little cheaper so cost may be lower than that.. I would strongly recommended you to go for rear sets which will make ride more enjoyable..

                wow 4k is a bit too expensive for me.
                I was planning to carry out this mod from my pocket money savings as i dont earn rght now. {I'm a student}.
                Now I'll have to save for a longer time..

                  better check with probiking guys / spares shop guys for the cost first and then save accordingly! doesn't harm to know ur expenses in advance.

                      i have a pulsar 180 v1.

                      i have done switched to the rear sets of the 200.

                      its a direct fit .
                      but i did end up with couple of problems.

                      1: my center stand became a lot lower and it scraped almost every hump.

                      2: also i had to heat and bend my kicker a bit as it used to get stuck.

                      both these were solved using minor welding.

                      over all.

                      i'm really happy with the new positioning and really enjoying it.

                      i did it quite some time back. and do not really remember the costs involved.
                      but pretty sure it was well within 3k.

                          I still havent gone ahead with the mod.probiking spares shop is quite far from the place I live so didn't get the parts from there.
                          Now p180UG4 has the same rearset foot pegs i guess. Those are available if order is placed at the local Bajaj spares store near my place within 2 days.
                          The store person doesn't have any idea about them fitting a UG3 and so he said if you order you have to buy and if it doesn't fit then not our problem.
                          What to do?
                          Should I get it anyways?
                          Do the P200 and the P180UG4 have the same footrest frame A.K.A step holder?None of my friends have either a p180UG4 or even a p200. So I cannot compare.

                            The rear set mod is quiet a costly affair.

                            Firstly: You will have to change the rear set (obvious) and also all the things that go into it. That includes the gear and brake lever, small rubber bushes and some nuts and bolts. The original kicker would damage/scrape the foot rests, the avengers kick is a direct fit, so you could switch to that. After all this its certain that the silencer wont fit at the original place, so you would have to change that as well....the UG4s or P200 exhaust is a direct fit. The handle could be changed if necessary. I think the rearsets of the P200 and the 180 are the same....not sure though.

                            With all the above mentioned things the mod could cost you arnd 9k. So think and decide accordingly. Good luck!

                              Nuts bolts and gear and brake pedals are all fine. But changing the silencer for just this is not done man... some local jugaad must be very well possible to support the silencer. metal strips or plates and some nut bolts to hold the silencer. I am getting the footrests set and the gear and brake pedals for Rs 1500/-
                              Ideas to hold the silencer are welcome
