  • 2 Month old Yamaha FZ S Pending registration

I bought an FZ-S Black-Cybergreen from Variyan Automotors , Baner , Pune on Oct 26th. It has been 2 months and it is still not registered yet. I call up the showroom guys almost everyday and visit the showroom at least twice in a week. They are always giving lame excuses. I then raised a complaint with Yamaha India website about this issue and they talked to the showroom guys and later I got a call from Yamaha India asking me to wait till this Tuesday. Its Friday today , and no progress on this issue yet.The showroom guys are the most Pathetic ones. They're least bothered about the customer's concerns.
My beast has clocked 1100+ KMs and I've been lucky enought to not get caught by the police so far.

What else can be done on this? Fellow xBHP'ians , any pointers will be much appreciated.

It seems like your bike was not taken to the RTO for inspection by the dealer or if you have been give the tax paid reciept by the dealer then maybe someone at The RTO has misplaced your files on submission, that would make work little tedious.

First confirm which of the two has happened. Quarrelling wont help. Go to the dealer, sit down and have a calm talk, tell them you are concerned what exactly has happened and would like to know the true issue. With TR (temp registration) as long as you have Original Copy of Tax Paid Receipt, Copy of Address Proof, Insurance certificateSales certificate(Purchase bill in your name), pollution certificate(not necessary), and your DL you can ride around only for 1 month from date of issue of TR by the RTO which you have already crossed. It is illegal to ride without the licence number and you must get in touch with RTO otherwise with the tax receipt you have to confirm what has happened.
There are no short-cuts to any place worth going. So ride safe when you are treading uncharted roads.

The list of items I have been supplied with my bike are 1. Invoice , 2. Insurance paper 3. User Manual & Service Manual.

Nothing else apart from that. I've finished the first service too.

The bike has a "MH12 TC ***" written with a sketch marker on the number plate.

As far as I know , he has not even sent the papers to RTO for registration. Bikes here in pune need not be inspected by the RTO I guess. Usually , the Frame Number's Sketch is taken in the form and then sent to RTO through an agent.

        Update
I was at the showroom last Saturday , 3 other people with FZ's arrived at the same time I had , everyone with the same problem. No registration done . We met the proprietor , he said , this wednesday we could all get our numbers , confirming that showroom would be open on Jan 1st too.

Yesterday , it was closed . , ridiculous . Will be visiting again tomorrow. Meanwhile , any other pointers?

        1. Consumer Court?
        2. Local Police Station?

        Thanks

There must be some problem with those FZ-S since a lot of other FZ owners are facing this according to you, if you could check, if it is just with FZ owners or other bike owners are facing this issue too. I think the agent who does the paperwork for the SVC maybe having some trouble with his contacts. Very few agents work the formal way here.
Give them another week, if nothing happens go to consumer court. Try to get something in written from them, it could be used as proof in court if the need arises. If you are a college goer, take some of your friends with you, you know, give 'em a bottle of whiskey for their "help".

There are other bikes too. I got to see a list of 18 people whose names were with pending registration. We don't see "giving some more time" as an option anymore . It is just wasting more time. The way the issue looks around here on talking to the guy who handles registrations at the showroom , He says that the agents are not given papers for bike registrations at all. Looks like they spent all the money somewhere else. None of it is my problem.Frustrated.

Go and file a complaint with consumer court, also inform the police. This issue is bigger than I imagined, looks like there is some kind of scam going on, few months ago, I heard about a lady scamming people by telling them that she will register their bikes and finally getting arrested. She was an employee at the SVC.

                FYI

In simple , I don't have to explain anything else about the showroom's proprietor apart from the description in the below article

                    Update ,
We had gathered a couple of people who had similar issue from same showroom , some of them have their registrations done.

I could not escape from the police this time.

Hope mine gets registered soon too.
