Re: Clutch on Down Slope ?
Topic Approved.
Hey Shubham, Welcome to Xbhp. Hope you've posted your intro in the "Who are you" Section.
Well, there's no such big harm to the engine in following the above practice. At most, the clutch will wear out fast but that's it.
However, there's one thing: it might be unsafe for you as a rider to go downhill keeping clutch lever pressed. Engine braking should be used to one's advantage. The best would be to ride in a lower gear with enough torque, and your rpm counter in the midrange. The benefit would be that the vehicle will remain under more control, as the running engine won't let speeds rise drastically, and when you want to slow down you can just loosen the throttle.
It might not appear as a big deal, but think about it: Going downhill in neutral and your attention diverts for a second and the speeds noiselessly rise to 50 kmph or so, and there's not enough grippy surface to stop, then?---
