  • Apache RTR 180 vs R15 : Why R15 Wins in Real but Looses on Paper ?

A quick question, why has Yamama R15 better pick-up, acceleration and top speed than Apache RTR 180 given the following data :

    Engine Displacement (cc)

    Apache : 177.4 cc, 4 Stroke
    R15 : 149 . cc, Liquid-cooled, 4-stroke, SOHC, 4-valve

    Maximum Power (bhp)

    APache : 17.03 bhp @8500 rpm
    R15 : 17 @ 8,500rpm

    Maximum Torque (Nm)
    Apache : 15.5 Nm @ 6500 rpm
    R15 : 15 @ 7,500rpm

R15 on paper is behind Apache RTR 180, then what makes the difference ? I would need logical explanation of the same with the stats which differ.

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
    The girl said, 'NO!'

And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

Difference of 0.3 bhp is hardly visible to General masses. Also, bhp doesn't matter alone. Aerodynamics, weight to power ratio and how the torque has been placed over the range makes a to die for difference , to Me, r15 and rtr values look same, But given the faring and crouched downward riding style of r15 as compared to rtr riding style of regular up front, large amounts of air resistance are saved in r15 which help a lot in "going fast".
      That's a simple layman explanation.
