  • [Photo Feature]: Bujaj Pulsar 180 DTSI Head Bolts

    Hi There

Thought I might ask my fellow XBHP's here as I did not get a clear answer at my local service centre.(Have to bring it in to them and then they will take a week.)

I have to replace my Cylinder Head gasket soon because it is starting to leak a little bit oil. When I read through the training note of the Bajaj Pulsar 180DTSI UG3, I have noticed that the smaller bolts that keeps the tappet cover from leaking has to be torqued at more then 2 times the torque of the bolts that actually secures the Tappet cover, cylinder head and barrel to the engine.

That amount of torque to those small 6/8 mm bolt will snap right off and the lesser amount on the big ones will not seal properly then you wont have proper compression and oil leaking again.

Please correct me if I am wrong or was the torque values swopped around on these two pictures. If that's the case who know what ells is wrong in the manual.

Found the answer in and old Bajaj Pulsar 180 manual, think it is for a UG1. According to that manual the torque values are indeed swopped around.
