  • Good mechanic/workshop in Mohali/Chandigarh/Panchkula for Hero Honda bikes

I currently own a 2008 Hero Honda Hunk that has clocked 25000 kms till date. The bike specifically has been ignored for past 1 year and as a result, it no more provides the sheer pleasure of riding a motorcycle. Now I would like to revive it to its old days. It needs to be serviced and for the same I need a good mechanic/workshop. I have no trust in the official Hero Honda dealer workshops. They are just there to do the usual cleaning and engine oil filling. Please suggest a good mechanic in Chandigarh area.

I would like to know the reviews of Motul Synthetic Engine oil. Till date, only Hero Honda OEM engine oil has been used.

I am also interested in improving performance of bike(engine reboring/Iridium plugs/whatever).

I currently have Unicorn O-Ring Chain on my bike that has certainly increased the pickup but the top end has been reduced and bike refuses to go beyond 97 kmph. The bike also overheats if it is driven at 90/95 kmph continuously for more than 5 minutes and the ignition goes off as soon as i reduce speed after 5 minutes. What exactly is causing this overheating ?

The suspension is also very stiff/uncomfortable for cruising on broken roads. It causes back pain and tiredness even after a hour of journey. The front suspension oil has been recently replaced that has certainly improved comfort but it is nowhere in the league of a new bike. Any pointers in this department also ? (Note : The rear shocks are Gas Reservoir Suspension System Type)

The fuel efficiency of this bike has always hovered around 30-35 kmpl since day 1. Please tell if this is normal ? I mostly drive @ 80 kmph.

The rear brakes are inefficient in stopping the bike at a safe distance(basically the bike itself weighs 150 kg + 90 kg[my weight ]. Due to this braking is bad even though i have Michelin rear tyre). The headlamps also tell the same story. Any scope in improvement of these 2 ?

And the last query, till today the bike was in working condition. But today morning it refused to start(ofcourse with kick[exide battery had died a long time back]). Please tell any way in which i can atleast start the bike and get it to workshop.

now the bike has even started to roar and vibrate beyond 60kmph and is showing visual signs of dire need of servicing. I'm planning to use motul engine oil. However, please tell if it is worth its price of 850 Rs.

Also, please suggest a good workshop in chandigarh, or else i'll be forced to get bike serviced from hero honda showroom-workshop again
