  • Yamaha servicing issues

    Hi,

I own a Yamaha Fazer 153cc. I would like to get fellow Xbhp-ians experiences on unfair charges incurred during the servicing of motorcycles at A.S.S

During recent service of my Fazer at a yamaha service center, I was billed 70 rupees for Battery charging under labor charges. I checked with the service adviser and he said it's the labor charges for charging the battery. When I refused to buy his argument and proceeded to check the Yamaha prescribed labor charge chart, he said it won't be there in the chart. Immediately I went to the service manager and explained him that I never had to pay a separate labor charge for charging the battery, he came up with some new explanation saying it's for the electrolyte. Then it should have been under the consumables (which is already 60 rupees). I had to show my displeasure and said I'll take up the issue with Yamaha customer care. He readily agreed.

Yamaha customer care responded in a day saying it's a company policy. I then asked the same question to show me that charge in the chart. Then I was put on hold and was later informed that my case will be escalated and someone would get in touch with me. I've been contacted by the service center and they want me to be there for a discussion with their division manager.

Let me know if anyone has experienced such unfair practices before.
