Hello Guyz,

I want your help regarding maintaining my New FZS Battle green. I was suggested formula1 shampoo or turtle wax shampo, uber shine by a member for washing.
and formula1 wax etc for polishing.

But as many of you know that Battle green is mostly Matte finished and I saw that these polishes leave a white residue and dry off (just imagined that on my bike andthis gave me cold chills down my spine)

Please give me tips to maintain my matte green FZS. Yes it wont glow, but still I want it the best as Matte without any scratch. I also noticed that it attracts quitea huge amount of minute dust particles. I'm afraid wiping the dust off scratches the body and washing regularly dulls the paint

This is my very own first bike (ridden Honda DIO earlier, it isnt a bike ). I cant harm him.

Please let me know what shampoo to use for matte part, there are also shiny green parts sandwiched between the parts. Please suggest me on the same, shampoo polishetc.

Next for the small mod, Please check the pictures below. Got it in the same forum.

This is exactly what I need. My question is I am from Bangalore. Please let me know a location where I can get this done. Or is the same prototype thing availablein Bright Green, thought it would match my Bike's colour.

Thats all guys, I dont have any friends who can answer these queries. Only here i thought I would get my answes.

Also please warn/guide me on any specific care that must be taken for my Battle Green FZS.

Thank you.

Man i think iwas the one who suggested you these shampoo for your bike, if your bike is matte finished you have to protect if from scratches becuase one's matte finish is scratched it cannot be polished out, matte paint is more susceptible to scratches and damage from the atmosphere like water and bird droppings, for washing matte finished product you can use matte wash shampoo(with ph balance), you can also look out for matte sealant spray, i think there is a product called matte professional sealant(if iam remembering correctly) for long time protection. You can look out Dr. Beasleys matte protection products.

I remember seeing a product on internet called Nanolex matte finish shampoo specially for this purpose, this product is pH neutral, or you can look out for normal ph neutral hair shampoos.

Re: FZ-S maintenance and modification query.

I was looking at one of these bikes earlier today, it seems the matte finish isn't actually paint, the panels are pigmented ABS plastic, thus normal wax is no good for this, use normal automotive shampoo such as Wurth, you can try a bumper type wax or look for polymer waxes (these are usually very fluid i.e: thin/watery) that are safe for unpainted bumpers, I would avoid using dash board cleaners, they may leave the panels sticky after some uses. Hair shampoo is for washing hair, not really what you should be washing your bike with, unless it's a hairy bike!
Beware of Bread, don't say I didn't warn you!
More than 98 percent of convicted criminals are bread eaters !
Statistics show that more than 75 % of violent crimes are committed within 24 hours of eating bread !
Bread is known to be extremely addictive. Subjects deprived of bread and given only water, actually begged for bread after just two days !
Bread has been proven to kill. Scientists have now uncovered alarming evidence that 100% of the people who eat bread will eventually die !

I hope you will be that rich one day to purchase this much costly shampoo, my God roughly 12000rs, all right no problem, look out for johnson baby shampoo, this shampoo is very mild and very soft as it is made for babies,or you can go for liquid dish washing gel, just purchase a simple plain jain dish washing liquid with no fragrance and one which has got none of any grease bursters.

Hello brother
Congratulations on the ride
The matt finish is a real looker. The members above are right its a rubberised kind of plastic and not paint. stefanm and @ksumaker.
My neighbour owns a matt apache. This is what he does.
He cleans it with 5 drops of shampoo in 250ml water (mild ph neutral shampoo)
After using a soft cotton coth to clean the bike he washes it with water and lets it dry, then he uses non alcoholic wet wipes (80 rs pack for 80 pieces) and wipes the entire bike with one sheet (hence 1 rs), the bike has its matt finish and it still shines. I have a matt black painted pulsar too and this is what I do. The paint is a little tuff to keep but definitely worth the look. Dont be disheartened.
Beware of bird droppings. Soak them in water and then slowly rub it out. a pic would be a treat to the eye if you may

Something like this. These are 80 pcs for 99 rs. You can get cheaper ones too. Find them in a nearby store instead of online so no delivery charges. One wipe is enough to wipe the bike after a wash andnkeep the paint nice matt and it is non alcoholic so it dosent damage paints

Thunderstorm29, congrats on your new ride. It's a beauty!!! I've been using Johnsons baby shampoo always on my baby. It's very mild and effective.old soft cotton tshirts do the job of wiping n drying quite well. Beware that bike detailing is like a white elephant. There is no end to how much u can spend on it!! It's a bottomless pit.. All the meguirs wax, 5 different types of chrome polishes, tyre shine restorer, chamois leather cloth, microfibres cloth, leather polish at el, lying inside my cars boot is proof of that!😂😂😂... All this is fine for a while before you realize that water is you bike's biggest enemy and your priority should be to keep her as dry as possible. Buy a decent feather duster( one that doesn't have any hard spines). Use that to dust your bike gently to get rid of dust and avoid washing as much as possible.only parts that would need washing are the tyres.. If there r bird droppings then wet the stain till it softens and rub it out slowly.. All the best n ride safe.. And please don't buy 12000rupee shampoos even if u can afford it!!!😂😂😂
