To what i have seen or known is never, you just can't get the same original performance from bajaj engines once they are rebuild even if the job is done at ASC.

Hi deep007, i am surprised about your problem ! You are going for engine overhaul for just 57k kms ? I dont think your engine needs such early overhaul. Take second openion from some trusted mechanic. If the stock engine lasts for 57 K kms, then a rebuild may last for just 40 k kms IMO. There may be so many options for you. Ex : you can just change compression and oil rings. It may be a problem with valves. You may get valves resetted and timing adjusted. I suggest you to explore all such options and decide.

Cheers

Re: Bike engine overhaul

deep007, i never heard of such thing before. One of my friends discover 125 engine lasted for 90 k kms. In case of yamahas, one can expect more than 1 lac kms before overhaul. So as per my calculations, even if the bike is maintained badly, engine should last for atleast 70 - 80 k kms.

Cheers

You Mentioned you have NS, is it your Main ride? My advice is to keep topping Engine oil on this one and get rid of it in coming Months.spending 5-6k is just waste of money as Bajaj Engine Once opened is one step Close to RIP.
200NS 25K kms / RE500 7k kms / Electra 30k kms / P150 80K Kms(SOLD) / i10 40k Kms (SOLD) / Tata NEXON 2K Kms

I own a Bajaj. And trust me I have been there and done that. It's not worth it. I am still keeping and repairing the Bajaj because of emotional bond that I am having with it.
