    Hard gear shift - Need suggestions

    Hi,
    Of recent I have noticed that whenever the engine has run for 8-10 kms and heats up the gear shifts become hard. This is a Avy180 and I am using Motul 5100 15W50, oil is only 200kms old
    Initially when the engine is cold - moderately warm, the shifts are butter smooth but as the heat builds up they become clanky. Especially at a signal, getting from 1st or 2nd to neutral is kindof impossible. Switch off the engine and its easily slips into neutral.

    Any suggestions?

        i have a pulsar 180 ... same prob.... if engine if off.. it works fine...

        i initially thought it was the engine oil... tried the new castrol.

        still stuck with the problem. except for the first few days of the oil.
        - You spend half your life before you realize your are ordinary, you then, either are too lazy to change or you do the extraordinary and change the world!

          That means, clutch has problem in disengaging and engaging while engine is on.
          Try these:
          1. Adjust the clutch play. If play has been altered before, i.e. the gap is reduced then change it back to the previous position.
          2. Check, if clutch plates require replacement, i.e. worn out.
          3. When did you go last go for Pressure Plates replacement?

          As for engine oil, stick with any 20W50 grade.(I've been using GTX 20W50 for past seven yrs without any probs like overheat etc!)
          For better results add Bajaj Engine Oil Additive or Nulon!

              A few more queries:

              1. Can you tell me a bit more about the clutch play and how to adjust it.

              My clutch was overhauled just a couple of months back and pressure plates were replaced, abt Dec end
              2 I was wondering why is this issue only after the engine warms up...I dont see any issue initially when I start. Also if I take a 20-30 min break the shifts are smooth again.

              3 How does the additive help?
