    Gel seat dealers / retailers in India - to save sore butt

    Hi I have been going through many threads in which many have discussed about Gel seat / gel saddle. But when it comes to finding a local dealer in India, I couldn't find any one who provides gel seat / saddle to save our sore arse in long trip
    On the other hand, getting a gel seat from US or other countries is damn expensive.

    Thus getting a contact details of a dealer who provides gel seat in pan - India either it's online or offline can be very helpful !!

          I ride a N650 & I use cycling padded shorts which help prevent the butt from getting sore. You can easily do 400-500 kms without any discomfort.

          Coming to gel seat to further enhance the comfort of riding and to prevent sore butt, I also have purchased a product called Sofarider which is basically Gel seat with memory foam which is univeral and can be easily straped on the seat of the bike. I bought it for my pillion to ensure she does not have any issues on long rides. It's made by one of my friend's in Pune and his website is www.redplus.in

          Cycling shorts costed me Rs.1100 & Gel seat is Rs.2500.

          I ride long distances and I know the above two things easily solve the sore butt problem and make the ride more enjoyable.

          Ride safe!

            I'm a tourer myself and faced many issues while riding over many days and long distances.

                  But sachin as you have cycling shorts do u mind telling your suggestion about it compare to gel seat !!
                  And is it convenient and comfortable for long ride if we wear a jeans on it !!

                    Cycling shorts (and other technical under wear like LD comfort pants) offer certain features like - wicking the sweat away from the skin to the outer surface keeping the skin dry and hence reducing soreness. Most cycling shorts also have sponge padding which will offer comfort over long rides - but the problem is the padding is concentrated for small areas of the cycling seat.
                    But better than nothing and can be used with Jeans on long rides. So if on a budget, try the cycling shorts first.

                      [MENTION=70531]hirenz88[/MENTION] - Bhelke has already answered the question! Padded cycling shorts will improve your comfort to some extent. See if it suffices your riding time and if not you can always pick up one of these gel seats which are boon for long day rides!

                          I had tried 3 different kinds of foam and nothing helped. Then I realised if you wear jeans that are tight around the butt area, it is generally uncomfortable. Try a slightly ill fitting jeans and things will be much better.
