    Query Moved/Approved

    Cheers!

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
    The girl said, 'NO!'

And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

    THE END

        Hi avhad.
Congrats on ur purchase of Yamaha Rx 100 the legned of the 80's.
Green tax is applicble from oct 2010 for two wheeler it is 2000 for five years plus penelety of rs 40 per month, The vality
        will be till oct 2015.
When a bike completes 15 years from date of fist sale to oct 2010 no of months multipy by 40 rs penelety plus 2000 actual tax also called environment tax, this for thane RTO, I stay in bhiwandi city.
For NOC transfer if the previous owner and yourself are of diff RTO irrespective of the passing code in ur case MH04, A noc ie no objectioncertificate is required from RTO of seller location, My 2nd RX 100 having MH 04 was brought from malad mumbai the 3rd owner gave me NOC from andheri RTO to thnae RTO in my name, NOC charges are 500 but Ustav (3rd owner) has to pay green tax with penelty.
Passing is roadworthness of a bike offical charges 240 but for my 91 model RX 100 I have paid 800, agents charges are high. For green tav you get a repict of tax paid & penelety for passing it is mentioned on RC card Smart card after 15 yrs passing is for 5 years.
Get enquiry quoration from 2 - 3 RTO agents before sumbiting doc.Where do U stay which model is ur RX?

Sometimes mechanics tune the rx-100 for more mileage, even my mechanic has tuned my rx-100 this way , my bike last gave me 51km/l mileage. The plug looks in whitish in colour with this mileage, initial accelaration is also slight low, plus one has to open more throttle to gain momentum.

                Hello nehal
i realy dont know what should have done to improve milege of rx 100 to fifty plus but i do myself some work and lil bit lucky to got it.
I have 1995 Model rx 100 When I puchase it there was micarb ie indian made carburetter and I sourced mikuni one from scrap & replaced it
I have read many restoration threads and decided to restore my bike on DIY basis because like it most
i have replaced all rubber parts ,gaskets , cables , hoses , air filter ,adjust idle speed at around 1300 rpm but nothing done on engine or jetting in carburetter.
like you I was also not exactly sure about mileage for that i have replace old speedmeter entire assembly which i think not correct thereafter I used to check mileage for every single litre which alway fifty to fifty four
                More than my apache fi

                  Hello kusmaker
color of my bikes spark plug is brownish and its dry ie no oil on it when removed.
Buddy have one more confusion about its electicals . Headlight of my bike is not upto the mark. I have to check whether my bike is running on 6v or 12v. For that i read almost all two stroke forums... First checked battery(old upto five years) voltage its showing 11.9v. Headlamp is running on 12v bulb. Confusion starts now the 6v bulb also works fine on it and indicators of 6v and 12v also works fine on same electicals.
plz throw some light on my problem "what is the correct procedure to check whether its 12v or 6v"

The colour of spark plug should be between light to medium tan, brown is also fine but it should not be darkish brown, oil residue depends on flow of 2t, if you have checked your spark plug after a long ride then the plug will not show oil traces, but still get the flow of 2t oil checked, are you mixing 2t oil from top or through pump.

Most of the older 6 volt rx-100 are converted to 12volts, the simplest way which any mechanic advises is just to change the rectifier, flasher, bulb and battery to 12volts, now when you do the conversion this way the original current produce by the main coil is same means it's still producing less current,or the stock current, but still enough which can charge 12volt battery, which is somewhat what you are getting 11.9v, hence the older 6volt 25w headlight bulb will work fine, but if you fix an 12volt 35w bulb the illumination will be slightly higher than 25w but will be less than 35w, as you are seeing in your bike

The proper way to convert Rx from 6volt to 12 volt is to change whole of the generator(magnet assembly) with cdi, rectifier, flasher, wiring, bulb and battery to 12v with Rx-135 electicals, but this method is quite expensive, so most of the times electricians or mechanics don't go by this method, check your battery if it has got 6 cells on top its of 12volts.

It's a myth that oil pump is not trustworthy, these 2t pumps are quite bulletproof and seldom something gets wrong with them, the only problem maximum a 2t pump faces is of leakage, which can be cured very easily, my rx-100 pump has never failed in the 20 years of ownership so don't worry on failure of pump they very rarely fails.

You can't have a very bright headlight on Rx-100 the max you can do is to convert the bike to 12volts, and use 35w healamp, for conversion you have to source whole magnet assembly of Rx-135, it will cost you around 4500/- this was the last price not sure of current price, Cdi of Rx-135, rectifier, flasher, battery, wiring harness, and ofcourse all bulbs of 12volts, all of these parts including generator or magnet assembly will cost you somewhere between 7 to 8000/- bucks, parts are getable if you have the time and patience.

For workshop manual i have Rx-100 workshop manual.

I dont wanna damn bright headlight buddy but it should be average one like other commuters hence the same.
I will check the availability of generator, cdi, rectifiers asap but I wanna DIY all the job at any cost(like damage).
Plz send me a link that I could able to download the workshop manual because i wanna know my machines heart and dreamed to build up on my own efforts. If you helped me to get one copy of manual that will be the most precious gift ever from my xbhp friend(penfriend in old times)
Thanx a lot friend for giving me your valuable time, tips & knowledge.

                            Re: Rx 100 documentation

Yeah that's what i said you wont be getting headlight like that of full Dc bikes, but if you convert the electricals to 12v(proper way) then headlight will improve quite fairly, all of these parts are available the only issue is which shopkeeper is having them that's the search part if you are able to find these parts then brilliant.

I have a dowloaded copy of this manual in my Adobe programme, send me your email id through pm and i will send this workshop manual via email.

On your mix ratio of 2t oil to petrol the ratio you are maintaining is fine, one should not exceed mix ratio as more 2t oil will only lean the mixture which will eventually destroy the engine, even on a rebuild engine one should not go above 30ml/l, don't use any kind of 2t oil go for either shell vsx, or yamaha's own genuine 2t oil, believe me yamaha's 2t oil is very very good oil for Rx series, costing 355rs/l.
