  • Wiring problem

I have Bajaj Avenger 220, and have installed HELLA 100/90 headlight in it. Also I have roots horn with relay installed. After the installation of horn, the upper/dipper switch is heating up as light is switched on!!!
    Help please..

    Thank you in advance.

    Query Approved.

Exceess amperage load can indeed put undue stress on the switch system and indeed can heat, same as in your house where you use a powerful machine and you see the switch heat up. But, again this shouldn't be happening. Reduce the bulb's wattage and see how it fares. Cheers!

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
    The girl said, 'NO!'

And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

    THE END

You're drawing too much current, this is back feeding, you could try installing some diodes in your circuit, it might solve your problem.

I assumed you already had a relay, you would need to install one, if you still have the issue after installing a relay, then the issue maybe back feed, in which case a few diodes could help, I wouldn't advise putting a larger amp fuse, that may give you future problems and if the fuse isn't blowing anyways, you not going to achieve anything.

Can you tell me more about the relay and Diode please, I don't know much about it.
Is it the same realy we use in horn wiring? And how to install the circuit?

Relay kits are plug and play, this is your first port of call. If issues persist then possibly back feed in your circuit, though this normally happens when you install led bulbs, diodes simply prevent the current from returning and going else where, such as if you install a led brake light in place of the halogen, often when you hit the brakes the parking lights illuminate.
Most probably you just need to hook up a relay.

I do have installed led lights, but not as headlights, but as auxiliary, and the circuit is taken from the indicators, also it has a separate toggle switch. Now please tell me which relay to install.

                  Thank you.

                    Re: Wiring problem

Get the H/L wiring kit installed buddy,

Otherwise you'll end up frying that OE 2 way switch.

Better get the branded one installed.
