  • Hero Classic Cafe Racer rear set footpegs

Hey guys... im seriously contemplating putting rearsets on a hero classic cafe racer thats just been launched.. as soon as I buy one... the frame is same as the other hero bikes... dont ask me why im buying this underpowered machine. just that my heart is pulling me to do so...can anyone tell me if stunners rearsets can be retro fitted to a passion frame? if so how has anyone done it? I searched a lot for honda cub rearsets but I keep getting ones that will cost me 30000 rs plus shipping!!! Help needed asap

Wow, you are buying that bike. Great

Yes most probably.... I have 60k It will either be a hero classic or an rx100 cafe racer project.... only issue right now is how to put rearsets.... amazingly this bike already commands a 1 month waiting period and 266 bikes have already been booked(some even delevered!) I am surprised with the figure as well...

Hopefully I will be the first... all rests on the rear sets... if that is not possible I will not buy it... since the seating position was cery weird... clip on like clubmans... and foreset foot rests!

Re: Hero Classic Cafe Racer rear set footpegs

Test 'sat' the bike today.... very weird seating arrangement.... have to lean over for ultra low clubman bars...yet footpegs are forward set... dealer said bike has a larger rear sprocket and is designed to hit higher rpms?! Also.... bike seat was very comfortable...very soft and plush...material felt of high quality.... bike felt very heavy compared to the splendour pro parked beside it... paint quality was much better then other bikes there...say even a hunk or xtreme! Delaer said it comes clear coated from the factory and hero has asked for no 'tufflons coating' yet he is willing to give option....(teflon aghhhh:banghead switchgear was same old elchepo ones.....
Shocks etc were same.....now if the old members here remember chrome quality now a days is.....rubbish.... but this bikes chrome bits felt reasonably of better quality!...had a lustrous bluish tinge on the carbon black one... very thick mudguard(front)......handlebar had ugly weld marks.. but felt very solid... had a nice angle to it aswell....
Awesome city retro looking mile muncher.... tag line is "singlehood" I am told hero will also launch a double seat conversion kit. Dealer said "engine is different saaar" when prodded he said it has a longer piston?!:screwy: I was like waaaat? He said yes sir piston looks different... as told to him by mechanics its old type piston....he also said hero will earn more from selling the spare parts... many people have asked him to bring in headlamps, and rear cowl.... also highest requests for the handlebars..... bike had a side stand indicator as well...... gear lever of the front only toe type (aka unicorn or twister) would have been better since your ankle has to be bent slightly to prevent 'riding' the lever... kudos to hero imo..... a college bloke on dads money will love it...an old retired guy wanting a frugal reliable unit with a little nostalgia will love it.... and delivery guys will loathe it! Renove the rear cowl and out in a big carry box! simply put....its frugal...bulletproof reliable...looks classy and retro.... and cheap to buy, maintain and run.... an re continental gt cant hit a ton mark... this wont either...but I believe they will sell the same... a niche market.... no matter how different a product...there will always be takers for it.... im still contemplating a used rx100 over this... will give up the search for a good rx100 next month or so... If I cant find one by then..this bike it is....

Also... bike had a maintenance free battery and selfstart as standard.... headlight reflector is chrome plated metal and not plastic as stated by dealer......
Can a 100/18 rear tyre fit this? Stock is 2.75 both! Eh...
Amazingly the hero ad depicts a girl riding this! That too in black...

The only points going for it are:-
            -very high quality components used...!
            - fuel efficient, reliable as hell and cheap to own/run.
-parts backed up by similar model and hero!
-excellet xbhp splendour/joy etc thread and its member!(seriously hero shuold put this up as a feature in their website... any problem? a diy) a query!? They are there!
-I ride single 99% of the times...
-black one looks very good upfront...
            - unique handlebar design.. lovely to hold...manoeuvre the bike...

            Bad bits:-
            - no rearsets
            - rubbish tyres
            - people dont have a very good opinion about this bike....says it looks odd etc... but to each his own....
            - power here? absent mam!
            - no front discs(not required though!)
            -switchgear of cheap quality...
            -meek horn...
-sheetmetal felt very thick on the tank?! I wonder why...
            - heavier when compared to a splendour or passion? Seriously where is the weight coming from??!
