  • What is best way??

honda twister 2010 bought. i was having problems in power delivery in my bike. jerking problem, no pick up.
After a lot of research i am 100% sure that some blockage or some fault in my exhaust system is causing it. As back pressure is more so scavenging is not done properly.
when i showed it in an authorized service center they told me to put a new exhaust.(costs Rs 4500/-)

i wanted to know is there any way to repair or clean my bike exhaust or any other way? Do i have to put a new one? and what are the future effects on the bike engine due to this problem? plz help..

exhaust wont be causing jerking issue... rare case.. it can change the power delivery pattern , ride can start popping while de-acceleration but not jerk..
pick up loss ?? how much ??

also is the exhaust broken ? rusted ? if not 4 stroke exhausts are not made to be cleaned and they getting blocked is almost impossible unless you engine is consuming some real lot of fuel and its getting deposited in exhaust manifold..

seems more of carb issue. when was the last time carb was cleaned/checked ?
valve (tappet settings) , fuel line supply ?

thats urburnt carbon and tell that idiot mechanic of yours to resign if he dosent know what to do for issues.
places to check : choked air filer. check condition and replace/wash/clean etc.
choke wire/switch : it might be on - switch wire/broken
carb tuning : this is definitely needed. ask him to open carb and check both jets and float valve.
                          worst case : valve clearance....
start from top as mentioned... and dont replace the exhaust...

                            He has checked all
While not running revs are OK
                            But while riding jerking happens
                            Black smoke in both conditions
His theory is something is blocking the exhaust
                            What's you say

its definitely fueling issue. black smoke comes when carbon are unburnt . that previous stage of before even exhaust gases entering the exhaust...
i still won't agree on exhaust being the culprit here... get the carb + valves checked for any leakage etc... carb tuning is must.. try a local mech..

on a side note it can be the can-con (catalytic convertor failure) in the exhaust. how old is the bike ? how many km's done ??
is the head gasket good ?
