  • help: oil mix up

    hey guys ,
i own a p220 , ive been using motul 300FL for quite a while now.

As i have to leave for manali tomorrow , I took the bike to the service station. The guy there accidently topped up the oil(300fl) with 300 ml of castrol 20w50.He tells me its gonna be fine, wont make a difference , but im sorta scared shitless.

Should i get the change the whole thing with 300V , or let the oil cocktail run ?? i ve currently clocked 25000 , and the next oil change is due at 27k.
    Please help.

Similar situation with cravikiran with his P220. He is not feeling good at all with the mixup. He is soon gonna change it to either Motul 5100 or 300v.

I do not think it will harm the engine, but who knows, better change it.

Ideally, its not advisable to mix up two different brands of engine oils cause the chemical compounds(ant-friction and wear modifiers) that are mixed in are different; all said, if the oils are of the same grade and type (mineral/semi-synth/synth), it should be fine.
Any deviation in the grade and type parameters would make an immediate oil change a necessity.
