    Help!!! Help!!!

    Hi guys,

    I own a Pulsar150v2(2005dec), she started giving me a peculiar problem since a month, the engine oil seems to get burnt or smoked in fumes, I dont know why! I change the engine oil once in 2000kms.

    last month while I was draining the oil for a routine engine oil change,600ml was all i drained inspite of waiting for 30 mins for complete draining.

    guys,please shed light! and oh,,I forgot..she has clocked 49000kms,no clutch change yet,timing chain and tapp bits(that is what the mech said)it is the inlet outlet valve gaps I suppose,they were adjusted once,
    she pulls effortlesly.
    I dont strain her a lot though!

    Query Approved.

    Looks like your piston rings are due for a change. Even my P180 Classic has been giving these white fumes lately, and burns engine oil. Although, it started pretty late, at around the 98000kms. mark.

      As Aryan pointed out, your bike might need a piston ring change. But, if the piston rings are letting oil, your bike will be smoking like a two stroke and you "might" also see a slight to heavy power loss as compression will become low. A compression check also could be done. But, you say that your bike pulls effortlessly. So, you may do well to check if there is any leak, especially from the oil sump nut. So, thoroughly examine your engine for any leaks. Also, rev the bike at standstill and observe for white smoke from your exhaust. Hope this helps.

        Aryan is right there...

        on the minimum side you need to adjust your Valve clearances (tappet adjustment).

        Next stage is may be the Valves need a replacement.

        Next is the Bore (Piston, piston rings & cyllinder)

        If you happen to change all the above, better change ur timing chain too.

          @Aryan = Thanks for the approval,woah..98000kms is really gud.. I know ppl who have changed the Rings @ 35000kms (ppl who dont know the importance of juice in d engine) ..


          @jay = oil replacement n all small works of my bike is done by me @ home, I thoroughly have checked for leaks, but dunno wats d prob! n she doesn't smoke too!

          @hydbiker = tappet adjustments have been done, the timing chain too was replaced,will check for the valves this Saturday!
