I have bought a second hand yamaha fz which was run only 48000 km when i bought and i am a student so didnt drive more than 10km a day but the problem is my bike makes too much sound when it crosses 50km/hr since it is serviced timely and one more thing it cross 100 rarely i mean when i try to pull it to that speed it just remain under 100km/hr. what should i do guyz i am very much worried since i heard that fz crosses 120km/hr easily
So you bought a 48k km old bike? That is high mileage in itself. And FZ never crosses 120 easily. Expect speeds upto 112 to 114 kmph speedo indicated.
Get the clutch plates checked.
Sent from my phone. Kindly avoid it while riding.
Got a $5 head? Get a $5 helmet.

Naa mate, i own a 2009 fz, top speed in stock condition is 116 and after 110 you need for wait for long time to reach this speed. From which part of the bike you are gitting the noise above 50km...
I DON'T LET MY BIKE DOWN, MY BIKE DOESN'T LET ME DOWN......

From the engine itself like its start making heavy sound near 50km/hr. Idle rpm is around 1.5k and carburettor tuning is good but still it makes a lot noise as i see other fzs, they run smoothly with a crisp and good sound

Hi, may i know what kind of noise it is making ? It appears you need to change clutch plates along with steel plates. Get your clutch bell checked. If needed get it re setted.

i will get clutch plates checked and what about installing a HHO kit?? Is this a good option?
But what abt giving it a try?? Coz my fz is giving an avearge of 35km/ltr hardly.
Yours is a <2012 model. It was known to have low mileage. 40 kmpl was tough to achieve. Later, engines were tuned a bit for mileage. Moreover, one doesn't buy FZ looking for mileage, it is for outright fun!

Yup.. It was after 2011 that Yamaha tuned fz for more mileage. Prior to that, fz used to give mileage of 33-35km/l normally.
Stay stock and even if you want more mileage, ride in 50-60km/h range and you might get a figure close to 40km/l

And what servicing the bike? authorised Yamaha centres are better or anywhere outside coz i hve experienced both and found that yamaha servicemen never service the bike they just chnge the engine oil clean the chain and thats it but outside private shopworkers check everythng eg. carburettor tuning etc.

Depends upon your comfort level. If a private mech is trust worthy and known to you, then in all means visit the private mech only. Moreover, since your bike is out of warranty period, you may give the SVC a miss.

Sorry mate, i have no idea about those kits. One of my friends FZ16 had the same issue a year back. Lot of engine noise, performance and mileage loss. Later it was found that one of the steel plate was bit warp. After replacing clutch plates and steel plates, there was a remarkable change in performance and mileage. Also check tappet settings and get it adjusted if needed.
Cheers
