  • Help Needed, Pulsar 180 UG4 eating money !

    hey ,

I got this unique problem here. Very much depressed with the problem since i do the regular service without fail and still the motorcycle is performing dud.

My parents bought this motorcycle in 2011 from Popular Bajaj Kochi.
I Laid my hands on it after a week at coimbatore to where it was transported by my parents as a surprise gift.

with just 45kms on odo i started the awesome journey with the motorcycle.
however after a few days i realized that the vehicle wont go past 70 kmph!

i called in Popular Bajaj , they said its normal and allow it to "ride and settle". rode for another 300 kms even then prob persisted.
i took it to a bajaj authorized dealer in coimbatore, they rectified it . However they did not disclose what the problem was.

Later at 14000kms engine siezed. and a Clanging sound was to be heard.
Rebored engine and drove for soem more.

in the mean time i got bitten by vespa bug, went ahead and bought a new and old vespa.

now my problem is , the engine wont stop leaking, an air sou8nd from engine always, and the vehicle AGAIn wont go past 70 kms and that too rpm at max!

i just got it serviced back to back from 2 service stations in chennai to get it rectified.but none are able to get the vehicle to move beyond 70!

I do change my oil regularly, i do get it serviced regularly.
K&N stock replacement filter was installed at 1500 kms and was removed around 6 months back.
    now the odo is 40000kms.

is this normal for pulsars to self destruct like this.?
even though am planning to immedeately buy a new motorcycle ,i dont want to sell this motorcycle because a lot of motorcycling touring memories are attached with it.

I too had this kind of issue with my P150. After 1 year of struggle and R&D on most of the parts like carb, cdi unit, read switch etc. i replaced the carb with new one and issue resolved. Still i dont know what was the exact problem with my old carb.

Try to get some one's carb and test your bike.
