  • Fitness certificate and transfer process

    Hi,

    [Bangalore ]
I bought a Karnataka registered RXG 135 (1997 make) in Dec 2013. The previous owner signed form 29 and 30 and gave it to me. I was too lazy to do the transfer work untill now. Now that I am looking to move to a new city, I want to do the paperwork asap.

    I have
the smartcard registration document (in the name of previous owner)
transfer documents (form 29 and 30) signed by previous owners

    I need
The motorcycle to be changed in to my name
    Fitness certificate
    Insurance done for the motorcycle

    Queries
Is there a chance that the road tax is not paid, or will there be any renewal I will need to do regarding this? ( The Bike is Karnataka registration)
What should I get done first? FC or Transfer of Ownership? Or should it be done together?
Is there anything else I would need to get? Is Green tax a thing?
What would be the costs involved considering the date on ownership transfer paperworks is Dec 2013 and I am just doing it now?
What documents will I need to carry when I go
Can all this be done in BDA? OR should I go to RTO ?

Pls approach a good driving school & explain this to them & keep moving with things.

Hi kishorekumar, as of my knowledge, you cannot directly go and get this thing done. As aargee said, its better you approach some driving school. I got my 88 rx100 paperwork done with driving school agent. The problem here is, you need to have updated insurance for FC (its actually RRC) and to renew your insurance, you must have valid FC ! So broker will take care of all paperwork. You may need to shell out around 3k for this. It all depends on your negotiating skills . I got my 99 yamaha ybx FC done directly for just rs 535 ! because both insurance and FC were running up to date.

        Cheers
