  • Silencer modification in Eliminator 2005

    Hello Guys,

I need your help to understand the impacts of silencer modification. I have replaced my original silencer of Eliminator 2005 with old Bullet 350 original silencer.
I feel extra heat after fitment and mechanic told that it is normal in thsi type of engines. Today my starting coil not working.

Please suggest and provide some details to understand the matter in depth. I like the modification and don't wish to reverse. Appreciate any type of inputs.

    Keep travelling...

Does that silencer modification improves the exhaust note?

Yes of course ... The thump is more prominent now ...they said can be increased by putting a bend inside the pipe but that will decrease mileage incredible so i didn't. Anyways my avy has got a signature note now and can be recognised easily...its thump with over all bass sound all the surrounding. I will try to upload a youtube link shortly and post link here

One more question brother. Does the modification you have done affect mileage or is it giving the same figure just like before?

Wow bro!! The exhaust note is awesome. I am really interested in doing the modification. Please guide me through the steps or atleast what should I tell the mechanic to achieve this type of sound. Thanks in advance.

Ask the mechanic who deals with silencer to put only half the amount of glass wool usually put and the outlet pipe to be increased by 2 inch

Ok bro. But that modification will not effect the mileage figure right bro?

Slight mileage drop will be there but it more depends on how you ride...actually what is going to be done is allowing "free flow exhaust" by removing catcon...you can see my previous pic showing inside of silencer. Buddy our avy is not meamt for "mileage thing...but comfort and figure thing" and even though it gives decent mileage.

One more thing... If you can find CERAMIC WOOL instead of glass wool it would be great as cermaic wool lasts longer.

Yesterday I went to the mechanic and asked to do same thing as yours. He said that he had to cut the silencer in the middle and then he'll be only able to install the glass wool. So my question is if he cuts open the exhaust will the welded exhaust look good? And also will there be any probability of leaking between the joints?
One thing also I didn't understand is why did you have to increase the exhaust tail by 2inch? Please explain the reason as I am not very knowledgeable in this matter.

Two pics i will show where was cut open...
                        1.beneath dtsi marked on engine
                        2. At the end of silencer to take out whole exhaust thing and install glass wool and increase exhaust size

Oh yeah...the reason why 2inches , the bigger the better..but 2inches is max i prefer...earlier i tried with 1.5inch but not so good exhaust note

Hey..try ceramic wool if you are getting...will last long...am going for it next time
