ok heres the whole story..a friend of mine inherrted a tvs victor 110 cc from his dad...but as known to every one the victor is not a very beautiful or powerfull two wheeler..he dosent want to buy another bike we decided to spice up his victor..we got the victors huge and ugly front headlight dome changed to that of the pulsar classic..also the handle bars were changed to that of the p150..we added those little suspension extensions that increased the height of the bike..one link form the chain had been removed and the wheel has been brought closser making its already small wheelbase even samller..these tiny little things has changed the dynamics of the bike alot...the bike does a clutchless wheelie in first gear and has become extremly nimble in handling.HID was installed(the power of that thing is just amazing its like riding in the day)..

anyways everything was just fine until yesterday when we got the hp air filter..we removed the airbox and bolted it directly to the carb..the bike seemd fine then..the roar of the filter was great fun but after some high reving the engine started making a buring smell(as i expected) the thing was runnin lean we reached home and he got the carb tuned by his dad but the lean condition still hasent changed much.the power cuts off at higher revs...now the bike needs to be upjetted but the big question is how?..

does anyone know of any good mechs in nagpur who could do a good jetting and tuning job?
    and if not
could the air fuel screw to maximum rich?could it be an alternative to rejetting?
what is the stock main and pilot jet size of the victor?
where can i get another jets?howmuch will they cost?
i dont have any exprience with jetting but i think i coudl nail it if i get some tips...

    thanks in advance.

Richard, if these small changes really work, I'll definitely give a try on my dad's Victor. Man, the poor thing has aged in the past few years and feels so boring to ride nowadays. One chain link going down the drain.

For jet sizes, you could contact a service center mechanic to look up in the service manual, or mail to TVS for the details. Do post any updates if you are successful.

Richard buddy, by adjusting the air screw you can only adjust the air fuel ratio in idle to 1/4 turn of the throttle. There are three other circuit present in the carb, which also need to tune.

I think Victor comes with a normal slide carb not a CV. Easily you can do two things to richen the air fuel in different opening of throttle.

          1) Check the slide pin, it should be in its middle groove, put it into last or next step will richen the mixture in 1/4 to 1/2 throttle opening.

If you feel that the low speed or the starting is harsh or out of breath try adjusting the air screw 3.5 turn from its full close seat.

** All these changes will defiantly hamper the millage of your bike.

@rachitkohli - will put up the pics soon

@diffuser911 - increasing the height is sure worth a try..but i dont think you should cut the chain..

@kauria - what is the silde pin?.
the current air screw is .4.5turns but the top end power is still less and harsh..seems theres no way around except cangine the main jet..

@ Richard Slide and slide pin come into action in 1/4 to 1/2 throttle opening, in the top of the carb body you will find a black plastic or metal cover, if you open that thing, you can see the rubber diaphragm, which is connected a small piston, that piston is connected with the slide pin. Actually slide pin close or open the fuel flow from the main jet. If you put it upwards the mixture will be richer and lowering the same will lean the mixture. Most Indian make carb has three settings, top middle and low, but some custom made pin have different level of settings.
