  • Question about Yamaha FZ 1.0 fuel indicator

    Hi xbhp!

    I've got a new Yamaha fz 1.0.
In the manual it says if the last fuel bar blinks, it's time to refuel.

I can see 3 positions in the fuel knob. One of them is for reserve. If I don't move the knob to reserve position, will the reserve fuel of 1.4ltr be used?

What happens if I continue using the bike even fuel indicator is blinking and knob is in ON position?

    Topic Approved & moved.

Generally, you refuel the bike if you get the opportunity and the fuel is less than half at least.
But, the manual or any person can't tell you when to re fuel, its up to your needs and situation.

Never ride the bike in reserve mode normally. Ride it in ON mode.

Its because, when the fuel lowers your bike goes slow and off. Then you can slot in Reserve, to get 1.4L extra to ride upto pump.

I can see 3 positions in the fuel knob. One of them is for reserve.
Off, On and Reserve, I guess?

If I don't move the knob to reserve position, will the reserve fuel of 1.4ltr be used?
    No.
Using the 1.4l of reserve requires knob to be pointed towards "Reserve".

Re: Question about Yamaha FZ 1.0 fuel indicator

      Thanks for the reply!

Initially I thought there is no reserve knob like honda activa and if indicator starts blinking it's the indicator for reserve.

So, I need not hurry to petrol bunk when my indicator starts blinking. I'll wait my bike to completely stop then I'll move the knob to reserve. Just for mileage check by the way.
