  • Need Help Buying my First Bike

Hello Everyone, This is my first ever post here as I'm buying my a bike for the first time with my own money . Currently I'm riding an Apache RTR 160 which my dad gifted my 2 years back, but now i feel like getting a new one (Probably the KTM RC 200). But as i have never purchased a vehicle before and never bothered about the procedure so i know nothing and I'm little worried too. I don't want to involve my dad in all this as it will be a surprise! So considering my situation please tell me the Procedure, Requirements, and any further information that will be helpful during the purchase considering that i will make the Full Payment by Ca$h. Any more Tips, Suggestions, Guidelines, Warnings e.t.c.are welcomed. (I'm 20 fyi)

      1.test ride..
      2.make up ur mind..
3.enquire all the details...(how much advance, what's the waiting period, what all extra fittings u might need, how much that all would cost you, ask about all the available financial service providers if you are going for Emi..

4.book the bike by paying a token (mostly around 1K-5k)
      5. For registration u might need one PP size photo,an attested copy of your address proof ...
6.ask for a Pre Delivery Inspection (pdi)..most cases they will allow one after full payment...

7.enquire about the warranty and the circumstances under which your warranty will be expired??like fitting aftermarket components ,skipping services etc..

I think these would do...(I'm also a newbie..forgive me if I missed something....)

1 more thing...do check out the ownership experiences and other reviews on xBHP.. Rose would give you an idea on what you should be and should not be expecting from your bike..

      Cheers 🍻

And also I wanna ask that what is Bike insurance? I'm totally a Noob in all these terms. So can you tell me about Bike Insurance, what are the benefits, How to get it, and how much i have to pay for it.

I will say try to go for a comprehensive 3year insurance package if possible. Also enquire the cover for metal and fibre parts.
In my case it was 100% on metal and 50% on fibre. Rc has a lot of fibre parts, so you end up paying half of everything.

See, the showroom guys will tell you about all the required documents, so don't worry about it, as they will be doing everything. But yeah, for the insurance, ask them for the zero dep insurance.
