    Query Approved.

Letting us know which bike you own or plan to get this done on, would help us in solving your query better.

Have considered that you need two levels of brightness? One for normal night lighting and higher output when brake is applied?

Rather than using resistor, you could use the LEDs in series. A set of 4 LEDs in series for continuous lighting and a set of 3 when brake is used. Using 3 when brake is used since it will be only for short durations and considering approx 12V output from bike (depends on which bike you use, ac/dc electricals) 4 in series would give you 3 volts each and 3 in series would give you 4 volts for each LED.

Ok the next thing is kinda tricky to explain. When the LED light is used at night, the continuous lights would already be on and you only need to light up the brake lights when the brake is pressed. But in case of day, you need both the sets to be lit up when the brake is pressed.

So you need to connect the continuous lighting wires to the set of 4 LEDs. And you need to connect both the set of 3/4 LEDs with the brake lighting wire along with a general purpose diode (like 1N4001) in series.

This should work for you. Let us know how it goes.
