Dear All Team Members,
After running my Discover 100 4G for 44,000 Km, I came to know that the oil filter is to be changed at every service (oil change). This has never been changed on my bike. Earlier I have asked my mechanic, but he said that the oil filter need not be changed. After this came to my notice I promptly changed by oil filter as per a DIY post by aswhinprakas. I noticed that the paper part of the filter has turned black but there is no sludge and the oil holes were clear. I filled new oil after this and I will take care that henceforth the oil filter is changed at every oil change.
Does this have any impact on the engine? Is this an absolute necessary to change the oil filter at every oil change?
Also I change the spark plugs at every 22,000 Km. Is this an absolute necessity? Will this have any impact if the spark plugs are not changed?
Currently my bike is running on my third pair of spark plugs.
I request the knowledgeable members of the forum to throw some light on this.
