  • Manual cam chain tensioner

i own hero honda cbz classic, cam chain is showing signs that its need to replace...meanwhile my two cam chain tensioner gone kaput...... I searched on internet and found that there is a APE manual cam chain tensioner available is US and according to people who are using manual cct it lasts longer than automatic, also people are using it in superbike... but those are not available in India and our mechanic never heard about it.... So i converted automatic cam chain tensioner to manual which i will post in do it yourself section later...but i dont have knowledge about setting manual cam chain tensioner and how much free play requires in cam chain, anybody have any experience with manual cam chain tensioner? currently i have installed it in my cbz adjusted it by listening the sound its working like earlier automatic cct... please give your opinion about this hack

I had some additional sound in my Unicorn and i suspected that I need to change the timing chain. Checked the same with my mechanic. He used a short flat head screwdriver to change the tension of cam chain and the sound disappeared.

Yes, the tensioner automatically adjusts the tension but there is a provision to also adjust it manually.

      But good find dude
