    Thread approved!

Do not attempt to start your engine when you know water has seeped in.
[Presuming that water entered through the exhaust pipe, then via open exhaust valves into the engine]

Take apart the carb, dry n clean with acetone. Dry the air filter assy. Remove the exhaust n drain it. Kick the engine a few times with the ignition off, that shd remove all the water from the head. Last but not the least, drain your engine oil, flush the engine, fill fresh oil.

Mate not to worry just few steps,

        Airfilter,
Just remove your airfilter and clean it with cloth and dry your filter element in air untill you feel that there is not wetness in it.

        Carburettor,
Remove your carburettor too and detach the cables connected to it and remove the full assembly and just wipe off the inlet and outlet with clean cloth, and remove the screws available in the bottom helps you remove the float chamber in which few water would have entered so clean it fully if possible clean with compressed air ( note : not to give too much pressure directly in white color float which will be present in chamber area.

        Muffler,
Remove the muffler and gently shake it upside down in both ways vertically to water come out.

        Engine,
Now its the greatest part just drain your engine oil (and keep the drain open throughout the exercise), and remove the spark plug and kick untill all the water comes out through the exhaust and spark plug area ( to reduce the pressure only spark plug is removed) and now put some 100 ml of clean oil and once again do some 20 kicks until the remains of other water sticks to it now drain it. Now assemble the spark plug, assemble the muffler, assemble the Drain and fill the engine oil.

And now assemble the remaining carburettor and air filter sequentially thats it.

        I hope this helps you...

Thank you guys. Following your steps mentioned. Spark plug also fouled, replacing it.

It was a brief moment 10 seconds, so just draining the creamy oil and replacing air filter, sparkplug solved. It was worse in some areas where entire bike drowned in Chennai

Re: Water in air filter, engine oil.. bike doesnt start

My bike had drowned completely 5 years back in Chennai (it was one day after I had bought it). The area was waterlogged and I couldnt judge the turn and fell into a ditch. Tried to start for 30 mins and finally it started. But it would not go above speeds of 50.

Took it to a mechanic. Got the engine oil changed as it had turned milky. Made sure that there were some dry kicks to flush out all the oil while the outlet screw was open. Checked spark plug. Bike is doing well till date having done 53k kms
