You mentioned 'it happened twice'. what did you do each time to get it working again. at other times, are there any problems or unusual jerks, noise while shifting gears?

I just tried moving the bike back n forth a few times. Also let the bike cool down.there was a bit of noise in shifting gears before.I fixed it by lowering the idling of the bike.It was very high almost 2.5 rpm.The noise doesn't usually occur now.the showroom guy applied some chain lube also.

By moving back and forth if the wheel is freeing up, then this all may have something to do with needing a Clutch Adjustment.

As the bike is new and under warranty, go straight to the dealer and get the issue fixed.
The RE dealers are not very good at customer service and will try to wiggle out of the issue, do not budge till your issue is fixed satisfactorily.
And being an RE, this is just the start of your problems. Get used to spending your Sundays at a mechanic. Speaking from experience.

I hope it solved the problem. Did you ask the guys at the service center, why it happened to a brand new bike??
