  • Grease for front disc brake calliper pins

    Hi all!

Can you please tell what is the best grease to apply to front disc brake calliper pins - white/silicone/etc

I have plenty of NLGI 3.0 for chain and general lubrication but know it won't do. I tried asking many auto spare shops (including Maruti Suzuki's Authorized Spare distributor) for TVS-Girling grease but all have only the GP NLGI 2.5-3 greases.

Anyone in Chennai successful in getting it, if so, where ? Also, can it be used on the rear drum brake cam or it is an overkill ?

    Cheers,
    Ashwanth.

Thank you. I have seen youtube videos of people applying it on back of brake pads and spring clips. Can it be used on sliding pins as well? If you are using it currently, can you please tell me how often (kms/months) you replenish before the old grease dries out. Heard copper grease is mainly for use as anti-seize - any other places it can be used?

          You're welcome.

Copper grease is anti seize and so are silicone based ones. Generally copper grease is used on the back of brake pads and on the clips of the brake pads that hold the pads.

For the sliding pins use only silicone based high temperature grease. I've never seen anyone put copper on the sliding pins but yeah I follow this method too.

          Pardon for the late response.
