  • Buzzing from ignition barrel

I posted the following in the pulsar 200ns section but could not get a reply. The problem is really bothering me and iwould really appreciate any help by you people.
Hey fellow NSians! A few days back my bike fell in the parking lot(stupid parking attendant). Although no damage was done, i have been hearing a buzzing/humming noise from the console area at around 3k to 5k rpm. Today i removed the headlight assembly and rode the bike to find out that the noise was coming from the ignitinion assembly. Pressing and holding down the key into the ignition barrel dampens the buzzing to some extent but its still there. Can somebody please come up with a solution and save me from my agony. The constant buzzing is driving me nuts! Thanks!

Hope this is not a big issue, though silly things can disturb the mind of real motorcycle lover.

You are saying your bike fell in the parking area, was it with the handle locked position?. Then the ignition barrel might got some damage. a nut& bolt loose or something else. Get that checked.

Ya. The handle was in locked position and the bike fell to the right side. And NS handlebar locks 'exclusively' to the left. I know its really a small issue but believe me when i say that i am unable to ride my 100%. Half of my mind is on that silly buzzing. Thanks a lot for your replyi will take the bike to ASS next week. Will let you know whatever happens.

Just ensure all the screws/ nut & bolt are tight - DIY. Once I have parked my bike in an open place in the rain for two days. After that my ignition barrel and key was loose. It was turning off in the path holes and humps due to the shaking keys. And the ASS suggested to replace the key set as it is not repairable which will cost RS 750- Rs 1000 (Ignition barrel+tank lock + seat lock). Since the spare parts was not available I have returned from there and I have found a Rs -1 coconut oil packet while having team from road side shop.

Just poured two packet of coconut oil but there was no change at that time. But it was working like new when I start the bike in the next day morning. I think the oil has taken some time to reach the inner parts. Still I am using the same without any problem. So request you to think and work twice If the ASS is suggesting to replace.

And the buzzing is gone! Phew!! You dont know how relieved i am. God bless you pal! There is a special place for you in heaven! M telling you
