    Query Approved

You want to do such a major makeover for your bike and you haven't done any research before this? If you have please share your idea for your design, what you plan to do etc. So that members who help you out with information will have a better understanding of what you want.

All the best for your conversion.
Biking is not about what you have between your legs, its all about how well you use it!!!!!!!

Give your details here if you want to help your fellow xBhpian stranded in your city

      Re: Cafe racer build

I don't think the Pulsar 180 is a bike to achieve a good Cafe Look, atleast without major frame mods. Because of the following according to me.

      1. The frame is up-swept from the rear end - this will need to be straighten out & made flat.
      2. the Tank area is also quite small - Cafe's mostly have an extended tank & a shorter seat OR seat is also further back from the handle bars. This means you'll have to get a New Cafe style tank or make one & Modify the seat to fit the flattened rear-end. I'm not sure if there are readymade Cafe kits available for Pulsar as there are for Regular Bullets atleast.

Which means a truckload of mods on the frame + Custom Tank + Custom seatpan along with other bits like clipons etc (which are easily available). So make sure you research thoroughly & get your head around the time & money for this.

Ideally the RX/RD or that 2strokes type of bikes are better canvas for a Cafe due to their dimensions & relative Flat nature of the design which makes mods a lot easier.

        Re: Cafe racer build

Thanks for the reply. I haven't planned much on this, and till now, just planning to convert the tank and use a yamaha rx or rd or kawasaki kb100 tank, cut off the rear swept up part of the frame and shorten it to fit in maybe a flat seat arrangement, with changed handle bars for the cafe look but not clip ons... Its a long project and may take an year or so.... Not able to figure out the brake and gear pedal mods, as standard rear sets are not available in india... So if anyone can help, will able me to chalk a full mod plan to start with
