  • Mating ZMR Engine with Yamaha Enticer Chassis

Guys , this is my first post. My name is Bijoy and I live in Delhi. I own a Hero Honda Karizma Zmr(2010) and a Yamaha Enticer (2002).

I would like to know if it would be possible to remove the old Enticer's 125cc engine and replace it with Karizma's 223cc one.

If at all this seems possible, I would like to know how to go about it.

Which parts will I have to procure ? Cost involved ? Will the frame hold the weight of the 223cc ? What would be the challenges ?

If this can be done , will it also be possible to install Karizma's disc brakes to the Enticer's spoke wheels? Also, can I also install Karizma's self start system on the Enticer ?

My Enticer is a beauty to look at and I would hate to let go of it and it's always a pleasure to ride it. The Karizma suffered a crash with damaged the body and I have been facing constant issues with the injector. Hence this question .

    Thanks !

    Query Approved

That would be quite a big job. Not heard of anyone working on the Enticer. In fact not heard the name Enticer for a very long time

    All the best!

      1. Will no longer be road legal.
      2. Very tedious, both in terms of craftsmanship and money involved.
      3. You shall have to - replace/strengthen the frame, replace/upgrade the electrical components, manage to fit the fuel pump somewhere safe outside the petrol tank, work on FI conversion, find a suitable sprocket size, upgrade the air filter, upgrade the alternator, work on stator and ignition coil to handle new load, add self start mechanism, add lambda sensor to the exhaust, replace the old exhaust with a new compatible one, add a cooling mechanism like an oil cooler etc.

Do you think it's even worth it?

Very tedious indeed . But won't it be possible to ditch the Fi and make it run on carburetor ? But I get your point , it would still be a risky job I guess .

It will be cheaper to get ZMA engine and components from a junkyard/old unused donor bike. No carb conversion needed, less time taking and cheaper as well.

Re: Mating ZMR Engine with Yamaha Enticer Chassis

Yamaha's Enticer Frame is built for 125CC engine. Fitting Karizma's 223cc engine is very dangerous because of weight ratio.

It can be done but you need to spend a lot of money. No mechanics will be willing to do because of lot of alterations needs to be done right from the scratch.

Though its 125cc, Yamaha Enticer is a kind of legend. It qualifies all qualities of a Cruiser. You can cruise in highway and also easy to ride in city.

If you have any mechanical problems, completely recondition both the bikes which costs less instead of swapping the engine (which is not advisable as many other people say).

One more option: If you know any custom bike builders, give them the Karizma's Engine and tell your requirements, they will exactly recreate the motorcycle. Later you can register that in RTO and good to use.
