    Hydrophobic coating

    Hi all...Greetings!!!
    Recently saw a Re classic 350 bike which had hydrophobic coating on it.the polish had given a glossy look to it and the owner said that it last for 1.5 years.has anyone tried this coating.If yes then input would be appreciated and does anyone know where I could get it in pune.

      I have got it done on my R3. You can get it done at Shine Inc Kalyani Nagar or CareItCarDetailerz Aundh. I got it done from Shine Inc. Contact information can be got from google/facebook. Cost me around 4K for my R3.

        If you are willing to put in some elbow grease, then a monthly coat of good carnauba wax based polish (given after a thorough wash) will go a long way. I use Formula 1, it resists water and causes beading of droplets which will all roll off. For daily cleaning/dusting i use micro fiber cloth (with a very light hand) and that keeps the gloss up (for my cars as well as bikes)

        But its purely a personal choice if you make it.

          [MENTION=36417]rugved[/MENTION] I do the same that you do..but what worries me is the poor paint quality enfield offers.its taking scratches easily.so I am thinking of coating it.

            Hey yes, that's one of my worries, not just with RE but with my other bikes as well. But in that case a Paint Protection Film from 3M or so, will more directly tackle your concerns!

              I would disagree with this. PPF will protect from scratches but will eventually yellow over time and spoil the look of the bike (Although the paint won't be affected inside).
